Not actually hairless — there's a fine down, like warm suede. They lose heat fast, which is why they burrow into anything available and why the stereotype of the sphynx under a blanket is simply true. The skin needs regular bathing because there's no coat to absorb oils. They are far more demanding of attention than most cats, and considerably louder.

Why the sphynx cat works as stencil art
No fur means nothing but form. Every wrinkle, the enormous ears, the cheekbones — a sphynx is closer to sculpture than to other cats, which is exactly what high-contrast black and white wants.
