28 characters. One red nose. Zero explanations.
The crew is how Life is a Circus exists. Not a brand first and characters second — characters first, brand because of them. Each one started as a stencil, got a red nose, and became something people recognize on a black tee from across the room.
Here's who they are.
🐾 THE PACK — Dogs
Ruby — Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Black Staffy with a white left front leg. Wide grin, pure chaos energy, lovable disaster. The star. The one who starts everything. The reason the rest of the crew has so many stories.
Storm — Siberian Husky
Grey and white, blue eyes. Dramatic, vocal, convinced she is a wolf. Is not a wolf. Has not accepted this information.
Rex — Doberman Pinscher
Black and tan, cropped ears. Looks intimidating. Cries at fireworks. Has never once been as tough as he appears. This is a secret he guards intensely.
Mimi — French Bulldog
Fawn, bat ears. Unbothered. Confident. Main character energy, but genuinely — not performed.
Duchess — Golden Cocker Spaniel
Long floppy golden ears. Elegant on the outside, completely feral on the inside. The contrast is the whole thing.
Earl — Golden Retriever
Fluffy. Warm eyes. Everyone's best friend. Zero survival instincts. Loves everything unconditionally. Still loves you after whatever just happened.
Pico — Chihuahua
Fawn, apple-head, 1.8kg. The one nobody argues with. Has never been told no. Rex is afraid of him. Nobody can explain it.
Bobo — Bichon Frisé
Black and white, round fluffy cloud head. Looks like a stuffed animal. Is the instigator of everything. Nobody ever suspects him.
Hugo — Beagle
Black and tan, long floppy ears. Always knows before anyone else. Arrives exactly where things are about to go sideways. Always knew. Never said.
Ali — Boxer
Black, flat face, deep wrinkled brow. Approaches everything at 100% intensity — breakfast, a pigeon, a seat on the sofa. Championship energy, every time.
Louis — Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Blenheim, long silky ears, domed head. Genuinely believes he is royalty. The crew is the commoners. The crew does not know this. Louis finds this irrelevant.
Blitz — Dalmatian
Black and white spots, intense eyes. Operates at a frequency nobody else can perceive. Already lapped the situation twice before anyone understood it was a situation.
Bruno — English Bulldog
Massively wrinkled, enormous underbite. One speed. Not that speed. Not the toughest in the crew — just the one nobody tries.
Max — German Shepherd
Black, upright ears, dense fur. Self-appointed head of security for a crew that never asked. Always on duty. Watches every exit.
Iggy — Greyhound
Long narrow face, wild flowing fur. Built to sprint at 45mph. Uses the speed entirely for feelings. Was moved by a parking garage once. Never fully recovered.
Zeus — Great Dane × Golden
The physical scale of a small vehicle, the emotional warmth of a sunrise. Genuinely believes he is the same size as everyone else. Very sorry about the lamp.
Beau — Rough Collie
Long elegant snout, flowing mane. Cannot stop trying to herd the crew into a better configuration. The crew has never cooperated. Beau has never stopped trying.
Knox — Pit Bull
Wide blocky head, enormous split smile. Gets the looks in every room. Has never once deserved them. Ruby starts things. Knox gets blamed for them.
Coco — White Standard Poodle
She is the most elegant silhouette in the crew. The curls are perfect. The posture is immaculate. The bearing suggests a life of refinement and tasteful restraint.
Kenzo — Shiba Inu
Always three steps ahead. Has opinions about everything. Shares none of them. The crew watches him for signals — a glance, a shift, a pause — and adjusts accordingly. Kenzo has never confirmed or denied anything. This is, somehow, enough.
🐱 THE COMMITTEE — Cats
They didn't join the circus. They're observing it.
Fig — British Shorthair
Grey tabby, perfectly round face, dense plush coat. Has assessed everyone. Has filed his conclusions. Will share none of them. Tolerates the crew. This is, for Fig, a significant gesture.
Rue — Burmese Cat
Black, enormous wide eyes permanently mid-realization. Always in the middle of a discovery. Not alarmed — engaged. Was already there when it happened.
Boone — Maine Coon
Enormous wild fur halo, lynx-tipped ears, fully open mouth. Treats every room like uncharted territory. The reason the other cats have so much material to work with.
Ciel — Ragdoll
Dense long fur, round soft face, and the only blue eyes in the entire crew. The stillest presence in any room. Chaos arrives at Ciel and stops.
Vox — Siamese
Sleek, angular, striking blue eyes. Has opinions on everything. Delivers them without being asked, continuously, at volume. Fig silences himself. Vox has never stopped.
Nyx — Sphynx
Grey, hairless, large ears. (See The Pack — Nyx moves between the crew and the committee depending on the situation. Nobody has verified this.)
🎪 THE FOUNDERS — Humans
Before the crew, before the red noses — there were the Founders.
Mamie
Wild white curly hair, round glasses, cigar. She assembled the entire crew, gave each one a red nose, told them to get on with it, and went back to her cigar. She was the circus before it had a name.
Remy
Flat-brim cap, glasses, tongue fully out. Been doing this since 1987. Does not moderate his energy. Has heard suggestions that he should. Has never acted on them.
Nova
Afro like a halo, bold brows, hoop earrings. Does not arrive — appears. Things rearrange themselves to include her and call it their idea.
Blanc — Le Clown Blanc
Enormous afro, full red clown face markings. The only one who actually studied the craft. Has technique, timing, methodology. Surrounded by a crew that does accidentally what he trained years to do intentionally.
Zed — The Brand Skull
Skull, dark goggles, red flaming hair, cigar. Not a crew member. The reason there is a crew. The beginning and the end at the same address. The punchline the whole thing was pointing toward.
