More argued about than any other dog, and most of the argument isn't about dogs. 'Pit bull' isn't even one breed — it's a shape. They are people-obsessed to a fault, physically powerful in a way that demands proper handling, and hard to rehome through no fault of their own. Insurance and housing rules stop more of them finding homes than temperament ever does.
Meet Knox
Black American Pit Bull Terrier, wide blocky head, thick powerful neck, deep-set eyes under a heavy brow, broad wrinkled muzzle, enormous split tongue smile. Gets the looks in every room. Has never once deserved them. Ruby starts things. Knox gets blamed for them. Knox is never guilty. Knox is always just there. These facts have never been reconciled.
