Burmese behave more like dogs than cats — they fetch, they follow, they sit on shoulders. All of them descend from a single cat brought from Burma in the 1930s, which is exactly the narrow gene pool it sounds like. They are relentlessly social and do badly as only pets. The coat is short, dense and satin-textured.
