English bulldogs are the clearest example of what selective breeding does to a dog. The flat face causes breathing problems, most can't whelp naturally, and swimming is genuinely dangerous for them. They are also extraordinarily good-natured, entirely stubborn, and will lie in a doorway you need to use and simply not move.
